Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently gave one particular and deserving fan an incredible moment.
Johnson gave his own custom-built truck to a Culver City Navy veteran who is involved in community projects and looks after his 75-year-old mother.
Oscar Rodriguez was presented with the vehicle by Johnson, who broke down in tears of gratitude as he accepted the gift.
Rodriguez was chosen for a special screening of Johnson's new film "Red Notice" in a cinema. Rodriguez was nominated by someone from a gym where he used to work as a trainer, and film producers invited him to the screening. Johnson surprised Rodriguez at the show.
Johnson subsequently stated why he selected Rodriguez on Instagram:
"I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar's story moved me.Takes care of his 75 year old mom.Personal trainer.Leader at his church.Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence.Proud & humble Navy veteran.Kind human being."
According to The Rock, the initial idea was to give Rodriguez the Porsche Taycan he drives in the film, but Porsche declined.
As a result, he handed up his own Ford Raptor vehicle.
Rodriguez told Eyewitness News that he admires Johnson's positivism and the way he motivates people. He intends to pay it forward with the truck.
"All I can say is that I hope and pray that this would inspire and uplift other people," he stated.
Rodriguez expressed his displeasure on social media as well.
"I counted my blessings when I woke up today," he stated. "Thanksgiving has arrived. There are so many things to be grateful for."
"I'm just thankful that The Rock got me this whip. I'm going to put it to good use, sweetie. I'm going to utilise it to motivate and assist others. And provide a lot of joy to others. You're the man, Rock."
