Britney Spears' lawyer has stated that he is 'moving aggressively' to get Jamie Spears removed as conservator.
Attorney Mathew Rosengart claims he is "working aggressively and swiftly" to seek to remove Britney Spears' father as co-conservator – "unless he resigns first" – only days after the singer was given a new counsel in her fight against her conservatorship.
Judge Brenda Penny approved Spears' request to employ Rosengart, a former federal prosecutor who is now a talented litigator, to represent her in her ongoing battle to terminate her 13-year conservatorship, in which she has no control over her finances or major life decisions.
Spears, who called into the court, talked for nearly 15 minutes and grew upset, demanding a "probe" into the alleged assault. She also stated that she does not want her father, James "Jamie" Spears, to serve as a co-conservator and that she will not submit to any additional medical evaluations, which she referred to as "dumb mental tests."
“I want to file a report of abuse,” she said "she stated, "Instead of looking into my capabilities, I'd want to look into my father.”
Rosengart talked to media outside a Los Angeles courthouse on Monday after a hearing regarding co-conservator Jodi Montgomery's plea for additional money for increased protection following death threats. Jamie Spears has spoken out against it, and the two have traded legal recriminations in court filings. The judgment has been postponed until the next hearing on July 26.
Rosengart repeated his firm's intention to remove Jamie Spears as co-conservator when addressing to media, as he did during the July 14th hearing.
Spears' new lawyer also thanked Spears "for her courage and strength," as well as Penny "for her civility in inviting my firm and I into this matter."
"I'd also want to express my gratitude to Britney Spears' followers and supporters," he said. "The outpouring of support for my firm, myself, and, most importantly, Britney from coast to coast and practically around the world has been really astounding."

Spears made headlines earlier this week with an angry social media message in which she chastised her family and promised not to appear "on any stages anytime soon" as long as her father has custody over her.
"This conservatorship destroyed my dreams... therefore all I have now is hope, and hope is the only thing in the world that is extremely difficult to kill... yet people still try," Spears said in a long Instagram post on Saturday, adding that her "so-called support system" had "hurt me terribly."
In addition to stating that she would not perform until her father, James "Jamie" Spears, handles "what I wear, say, do, or think," Britney also appeared to take issue with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, playing one of Britney's songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards as part of a tribute.
Britney Spears, Jamie Spears, and Jamie Lynn Spears' representatives did not reply to USA TODAY's requests for comment.
The pop star stated in an Instagram post that she would "much rather share footage" of herself dancing in her homeroom online than "onstage in Vegas."
"I'm not going to be performing on any stages anytime soon if my father is in charge of what I wear, say, do, or think!!!! That's what I've been doing for the past 13 years "she penned "I'm not putting on heavy makeup and trying again and again on stage and not being able to perform the real deal with remixes of my songs for years and asking to include my new music in my show for MY fans... so I resigned!!!"
"Right now, all I have is hope," Spears said, addressing people who had attacked her recent dance video in the comments section. "You're fortunate I publish anything at all... unfollow me if you don't like what you see!!! People attempt to extinguish hope because it is one of the most delicate and sensitive things on the planet."
In a letter to Spears' conservators earlier this month, her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, allegedly announced his resignation, citing the pop icon's intention to "fully retire" from music.
Spears' Las Vegas residency was unexpectedly canceled in January 2019 due to her father's health concerns. Since then, she hasn't performed.
