Lil Nas X goes pink to prison for the disturbing ‘Industry Baby' video.
Lil Nas X has been sentenced to Montero State Prison after weeks of high-profile court fights with Nike over his "Satanic Shoes" and outrage over his hot BET Awards makeout session.
Yes, in the controversial new video for his new single "Industry Baby," the controversial 22-year-old rapper dons a hot pink jail outfit. (Warning: If you are easily offended, do not watch the video above, which has almost 3.5 million views on YouTube as of Friday morning.)
Lil Nas X constructed a fictitious scenario before the overnight release of his current clip and single, as he is increasingly prone to do, to heighten the buzz and excitement for the forthcoming smash.
Following the "Satanic panic" generated by his "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" music video, in which he famously danced on Satan's lap, he personalized a pair of Nike sneakers, with which the athletics brand did not want to be linked.
The song "Industry Baby," featuring rising rapper Jack Harlow, 23, was born as a result of the dispute.
He announces his presence to the imaginary jail with an avalanche of trumpet horns, exclaiming triumphantly in the chorus, "This one for the champs."
The bizarre video, which debuted alongside the confident hymn overnight Thursday, shows Lil Nas X's time in jail, including a sequence in which he and a chorus of guys dance full-frontal — with some blurring — nude in communal showers.
He then drills a man-sized hole in his cell wall to escape.
Lil Nas X is known for his involvement in controversy and internet drama, which he uses to generate buzz and turn critics on their heads. In the song, fellow rapper Harlow appears as a guest, hooking up with a female jail officer and assisting Lil Nas X in escaping.
Nonetheless, in order to prevent the same criticism as "Montero," Lil Nas X tweeted a caution for parents and the faint of heart.
“I'm saying this ahead of time so you don't blame me,” he wrote. “THE INDUSTRY BABY VIDEO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!”
Meanwhile, fans reacted quickly to the video, which, in classic Lil Nas X manner, exposes his sexuality.

“I'm waiting for the homosexual line in any Lil Nas X song,” a fan tweeted.
Following the video's release, Maura Chanz, a creative executive and producer, tweeted, "I'm pleased gay black males have Lil Nas X."
Others were just awestruck by the rapper's musical brilliance and ingenuity for his video campaign.
“I'm in love,” another user said, “Lil Nas X never disappoints.”

In response to the fan comments, Lil Nas X wrote, "I grow 10% gayer every time I read a 'we got it, you're gay' comment."
He's already offering an uncensored X-rated edit of the music video if he gets enough Twitter hits and likes.
