Sean Maguire, 45, and his wife Tanya Flynn left their British drama for the bright lights of Hollywood in Los Angeles.

The English actor relocated to the United States from London in 2000, but it was only last year that he became a US citizen in time to vote in the presidential election.

On social media, he described the citizenship process, saying, "I believe in what this country can be."

Sean and Tanya, in addition to having diverse showbiz careers, both speak out about climate change.

Sean told Sean Maguire Daily, a fan blog, in 2017 that becoming a father made him worry about the world he is leaving for his children.

“Climate change is a genuine thing,” he stated.

“Being a parent means ensuring a secure future for our children, and climate change are not negotiable, regardless of your political views.”

Sean's career has been a flurry of productions ranging from soap operas to plays, films, and music.

Sean began his career as a child actor in shows such as Grange Hill, Growing Pains, and The Bill before getting his big role in EastEnders.

With his depiction of Aidan Brosnan in EastEnders in 1993, he earned the label of adolescent heartthrob at the tender age of 17.

The character was only on the show for a year, appearing in 63 episodes, but he had a rough plot arc including drug misuse and homelessness.

Sean then focused on his music career, releasing three albums in 1994, 1996, and 1998.

Good Day, which reached the top of the charts in May 1996, was his biggest success.

By migrating across the pond, the 90s pop sensation put his music career on hold and pursued his acting career instead.

Maguire is most remembered for his portrayal as Robin Hood on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

As a harsh punishment from the evil queen, all fairy tale characters are banished to the real world in this drama.
