Last night, WWE held a Supershow in Fort Myers, Florida, featuring a contest between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn (Balor won). Zayn claimed on social media that John Cena gushed over their match.
“John Cena was gushing about how fantastic my match with Finn Balor was tonight in Fort Myers, FL, and it made me feel good,” Zayn tweeted.
Cena was also a part of the program, partnering with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to defeat WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Usos.
In other Cena news, his latest picture, The Suicide Squad, debuted to lower-than-expected box office results this weekend. The James Gunn-directed picture grossed $26.5 million in 4,002 theatres in the United States, making it the top-grossing film of the year.
According to Variety, the film's projected box office receipts were harmed by a combination of growing COVID-19 cases and the film's R-rating. The film has a $185 million budget.
On August 21, Cena will battle Reigns for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
