Jamie Lynn Spears wept to her 3-year-old daughter, Ivey, in an odd social media picture on Saturday, only weeks after her sister, Britney Spears, revealed she intended to sue their family.
The 30-year-old former "Zoey 101" star recorded herself sobbing on her Instagram Story as Ivey, whom she shares with husband Jamie Watson, provided some words of support.
“Don't worry, Mom. It'll be fine.” “It has to be OK, Mom,” the child said, to which Jamie Lynn replied, “Thank you, baby.”
The actress posted the audio twice, first over a black screen and later with a GIF urging her 2.2 million Instagram followers to turn their “sound on” to hear her weeping.
Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears, 39, have been at differences since the Grammy-winning singer's court statement on June 23, in which she branded the conservatorship she has been under since February 2008 "abusive" and blamed her family for not getting her out sooner.
Britney later took to Instagram to criticize her sister during a tribute performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.
On July 17, she commented, "I don't like that my sister came up at an awards event and sang MY SONGS to remixes!!!!!" “My so-called support system caused me a great deal of pain!!!!”
Jamie Lynn responded with a cryptic remark requesting "peace," which the "Toxic" singer appeared to ridicule in a since-deleted post about an unnamed "mean-ass" individual.
In an Instagram video posted on June 28, the former Nickelodeon actress justified her decision to keep mainly mute on Britney's condition, stating that she has only "loved, admired, and supported" the pop singer throughout the years.
“Maybe I didn't support her in the way the public expected with a public platform and a [#FreeBritney] hashtag, but I can promise you that I've supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I'll support her long after,” Jamie Lynn stated at the time.
