Seth Meyers Secretly Welcomed 3rd Child With Wife Alexi Ashe: ‘We Had Another One!’

The ideal present! Seth Meyers and his wife, Alexi Ashe, had their third child, a baby girl, only a few weeks ago.

The comedian, 47, made the announcement on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday, November 25, with his parents, Hillary and Larry Meyers, and brother Josh Meyers as guests. Seth debuted a classic Thanksgiving episode in which his boys — Ashe, 5, and Axel, 3 — and dog Frisbee dressed up as turkeys and pilgrims, respectively.

Before the montage began, the former Saturday Night Live actor hinted, "Keep an eye out for a few [of] things." "[No. 1], do you believe the dog enjoys his appearance in this video?" And if you look closely enough, there's a sort of Easter egg that you may find."

In the charming video, Ashe and Axel dressed up like turkeys and hopped on a sofa, saying "Boggle boggle" to imitate the bird's gobbling sound. They giggled as they assaulted one other before revealing their infant sister, who was dressed in a colourful attire to match.

"One, two, three, surprise!" exclaimed the lads, kissing the family's newest member on each cheek.

Seth's family members clapped along with the studio audience when the video concluded, and he said, "We had another one!" He then turned to his mother and asked for the name of the child.

"Oh, my gosh, she's named Adelaide — Addie — after my mother," Hillary remarked of her 10-week-old granddaughter. "Knowing Seth and Alexi, I knew it had to start with an A, it had to be a clever name, and I know how important family is to them all." I believed I [guessed] it quite well, but I didn't know and didn't want to ask. … "I broke into tears when I found out."

The actor went on to ask his father what name he would have given Addie if she had been a male. Larry remarked, "I've had six dogs called Albert." “I currently have Albert VI, but I thought it would have been a good name. … I thought it would have been like Pinocchio, you know, all of a sudden the dog turns into a kid. [But] they went and screwed it up having a girl.”

"I only wish it had been a boy just so [my father] could explain to my wife, 'It's like the dog came back as a kid," Seth said, adding, "It's like the dog came back as a kid."

Seth and Alexi, both 38, married in 2013 and had their first child three years later. Baby No. 2 was born in 2018, and the Emmy winner's Netflix special Lobby Baby was released in 2019.

"I can't tell you how quickly [my wife] gave birth to our kid," he laughed as he related the storey of Axel's arrival in their apartment building's lobby. “I was on the phone with 9-1-1 and this was the extent of my conversation: ‘We’re about to have a baby. We’re having a baby. We had a baby.’ And let me tell you, it is very strange to be on a 9-1-1 call that ends with the operator saying, ‘Congratulations!'”
