After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Mark Hoppus claims 'chemo is helping.' 'Just gonna keep fighting',' she says.
Mark Hoppus is bringing his followers up to speed on his cancer struggle.
On Monday, the Blink-182 bassist, who recently disclosed he had stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, updated his Twitter followers on how his chemotherapy treatments are progressing.
"Scans show that the chemotherapy is working!" Hoppus wrote to his admirers in a message. "I still have months of therapy ahead of me," she says, "but it's the best news I could have."
Hoppus said he's "grateful and bewildered, as well as unwell after last week's treatment," but he's keeping a positive attitude.
"The poison the physicians inject into me, as well as the good thoughts and intentions of those who care about me, are killing this disease," he said. "I'm just going to keep battling..."
During a virtual Q&A session with Blink-182 fans in Chile on YouTube on July 15, the singer disclosed that his illness is "blood-related," rather than "bone-related."
"My diagnosis is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma Stage 4-A," Hoppus added, "which implies it's spread to four distinct regions of my body." "I'm not sure how they define the four sections, but it's infiltrated enough of my body that I'm at Stage 4, which I believe is the most it can go. As a result, I'm in Stage 4-A."

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a malignancy that originates in white blood cells and spreads to other parts of the body, according to Mayo Clinic.
Hoppus said he's been getting help from his mother, who overcame "exactly the same" disease years ago.
"I've been able to chat with her and relate with her quite a bit, and oddly enough, we have the same kind of cancer that she did, and she fought it three times," Hoppus added. "I've had three surgeries, two for breast cancer and one for the same malignancy I have."
The artist, who disclosed he's been having chemotherapy, claimed he hasn't been allowed to leave his residence due to his increased risk of being ill as the epidemic continues, owing to his impaired immune system.
"I can't get ill since my white cell count is so low after chemo, and I have to monitor my temperature frequently to ensure I don't have a fever. I have to phone my doctor if I develop a fever, and it's a complete process "he stated
Despite this, he remains upbeat throughout the procedure.
"We're going to defeat this cancer," he said. "It's only a question of time," says the narrator.
Hoppus revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had been undergoing treatment for three months in a social media post in June.
"I've been diagnosed with cancer. It hurts and I'm terrified, but I'm lucky to have amazing doctors, family, and friends to help me get through this," Hoppus said on June 24, adding that he still has "months of therapy ahead of me" but is "trying to be hopeful and cheerful.""
He added, "Can't wait to be cancer-free and meet you all at a performance in the near future." "I adore all of you."
He published a snap of his bald head a month after disclosing his diagnosis.
He posted an Instagram photo of himself smiling, "The Cancer Haver wishes you all a very happy Fourth of July weekend."
