Dolly Parton isn't short of words of wisdom. Despite her hectic career as a singer, actor, philanthropist, and businesswoman, the 75-year-old style icon never hesitates to tell it like it is. "When I got anything to say, I'll speak it," Dolly remarked. She's been very outspoken about what it's like to be a woman in the limelight. She famously stated in a 1977 interview with Barbara Walters, "I dislike following in the footsteps of others. It's no wonder, therefore, that Dolly Parton's message inspired Kim Kardashian, or that Dolly took the time to respond with kind words of encouragement.

Kardashian captioned a snapshot of herself resting on a yacht in a purple bikini on Instagram, quoting Dolly: "'Don't get so caught up in creating a livelihood that you forget to make a life,' says Dolly Parton. Always remember to set aside some time for yourself."

Dolly is most likely alluding to Kris Jenner's slogan, "You're doing fantastic, darling," which the entrepreneur is rumored to be in the midst of trademarking.
