Fans congratulate Johnny Depp on his new Dior ad, praising the brand for sticking by him.

Johnny Depp features in a new video promoting his Dior Sauvage fragrance, and his admirers are thanking the brand for sticking by him.

Johnny Depp has reappeared in a new video marketing his Dior fragrance, and his name has begun to trend on social media as supporters applaud the business for sticking by him. The clip, titled "Conversations with Craftsmen: Game of Notes," is a talk show-style interview between Depp and Dior perfumer-creator François Demachy, the Sauvage fragrance's makers. Depp and Demachy discuss their artistic influences with presenter Laurianne Melierre. At one point in the video, Depp even strums his guitar and explores a new fragrance. It's also the first of a series of encounters between the two, with "more to come" in September 2021 teased at the conclusion of the film. Many fans are applauding Dior for staying with Depp at a time when corporations like Disney and Warner Bros. are avoiding him, with the hashtag #ThankYouDior trending with Depp's name.

"From now on, I would like to see new @Dior content presented by #JohnnyDepp at least once a week (more content is, of course, welcome), just to see Johnny test perfume, play the guitar, hear him speak French and especially see him smile," one fan tweet reads.

"Just seen the new @Dior clip with #JohnnyDepp and I just wanted to say a huge #thankyoudior for standing by Johnny and not believing what the media is trying to push down our throats, but believing the evidence. You have chosen the right path. Thank you," says another

"We won't forget that Dior supported Johnny Depp in this difficult situation while Disney and Warner Bros. fired him," another fan puts it.

And another fan tweeted: "The magnificent @dior once again shows the world that they stand side by side with an innocent domestic abuse survivor. While other 'so called' companies fired Johnny for being a victim and employed a self confessed abuser... @dior continued their support!"

All of this originates from Depp's brief but turbulent marriage to ex-wife Amber Heard. After their divorce, Heard wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post describing herself as a victim of domestic violence, claiming that Depp had harmed her. Depp claims that the accusation cost him his lucrative role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Because of the claims, he was asked by Warner Bros. to leave his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3 earlier this year. 

After his attorneys publicly disclosed proof that some claim confirms Depp's word, many admirers feel he is innocent of the charges. This includes audio recordings of Heard reportedly admitting to being aggressive against Depp, as well as police bodycam footage that appeared to back up Depp's account of events on the night, Heard subsequently claimed he attacked her. A huge Change.org petition was started to get Warner Bros. to dismiss Heard from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, however, it proved useless because she is currently working on the sequel in London.
