Home intruders targeted the Braselton home of rapper Lil Durk.
A rapper’s home was the target of a home invasion early Sunday morning.
Over the weekend, Lil Durk was involved in a gunfight at his Atlanta home. The Chicago rapper and his girlfriend, India Royale, were at their house in Braselton's Chateau Elan area on Sunday (July 11) when a gang of unidentified individuals forced their way in about 5 a.m., according to TMZ.
Gunfire broke out as soon as they stepped inside. The couple fired gunfire with the invaders, who managed to leave the scene before officers arrived, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The number of persons engaged in the incident is unknown.
Reports of a home invasion at Durk's property back up DJ Akademiks' suspicions that cops had surrounded the house and were looking into a suspected shootout.
“Lil Durk's Atlanta home had a significant police presence and was probably searched owing to an investigation into a shooting and other crimes,” Akademiks claimed during a Twitch broadcast on Monday (July 12). “They said there had been a gunshot near where he lived.” Residents in the vicinity had informed him of the situation, he said.
“This is a gated neighbourhood, and they dubbed him the victim,” Ak said to his Livestream audience. “His neighbours and residents of that neighbourhood have told me things like, 'Yo, Durk lives down there, and there are crazy cops.' The FBI is attempting to carry out a search warrant.'
Following the death of his brother OTF DThang in a gunfight outside of a Chicago strip joint last month, Lil Durk and his girlfriend escaped the event unharmed.
Police are currently investigating Sunday's gunshot in the hopes of learning more about the incident. According to TMZ, they are looking for suggestions from anyone who is ready to help. No arrests have been made as of this writing.
