Yellowjacket return rumors in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Corey Stoll will allegedly reprise his role as Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket.
In the next Marvel sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it appears that Corey Stoll will reprise his role as Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket. When analyzing a new Easter egg in the Disney+ series Loki, which depicts a recognisable Yellowjacket helmet, Vanity Fair senior editor Joanna Robinson discovered this tiny fact. While Robinson continues to explore her views about the Disney+ series' trajectory, she appears to confirm that Stoll will return as the shrinking villain in the Ant-Man threequel.
"There's a Yellowjacket helmet. This large version of the helmet that I suppose Corey Stoll wore in Ant-Man, and the only reason that is super interesting to me is that there's a theory going around that all of the TVA stuff is taking place in the Quantum Realm because it's a place out of time, and so, I don't know if that's an indication of something to come, but do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3."
Corey Stoll's comeback has been hinted at before, with Ant-Man and the Wasp star Evangeline Lilly tagging the actor in a social media post on the incredible quality of Quantamania's script. Yellowjacket will very certainly have a role in the events of the film, having been confined in the Quantum Realm since the events of Ant-Man in 2015.
Although nothing is known about the narrative of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the title implies that the Marvel sequel will continue to explore the Quantum Realm, focusing on Janet Van Dyne and her travels and encounters there. The primary adversary of the sequel has been announced as Kang the Conqueror, who will be played by Jonathan Majors, who previously starred in Lovecraft Country. Kang is a time-traveling villain who is a future descendent of The Fantastic Four leader Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, prompting to speculation that the film would usher the famed superhero family into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be published in the United States on February 17, 2023. This is brought to us by the Still Watching podcast.
