Elliot Page will get the coveted yearly achievement award at the LGBTQ film festival.

Elliot Page's celebrity in Hollywood appears to be growing. According to People, the Outfest L.A. LGBTQ Film Festival will honour Elliot Page with the Outfest Annual Achievement Award, which was announced by the non-profit organisation on Monday. Kieran Medina, the senior programmer of Outfest L.A.'s Annual Trans & Nonbinary Summit, will give the award to Elliot Page.

"It is an honour to receive this year's Outfest Annual Achievement Award and to represent the LGBTQ+ community," Elliot Page said in a statement. "It is more essential than ever for our voices to be amplified and represented in cinema and media, and for others to hear our experiences." Outfest seeks to increase public queer empathy and preserve LGBTQIA+ experiences and perspectives. Elliot Page, who announced his gender transition in December 2020, will be honoured for his contributions to LGBTQIA+ storytelling, arts, and media exposure.

According to People, Outfest Executive Director Damien S. Navarro stated, "When determining the recipient of our highest honour, we look for those who have been a powerful representative for our community, who has soared to the highest levels of recognition for their talent, and who have stepped into the shoes themselves as an independent filmmaker and creator."

In the meanwhile, some of Elliot Page's acting credits include "Juno," "The Umbrella Academy," "Hard Candy," and "Inception," to name a few. His directorial debut, "There's Something in the Water," was published on Netflix globally last year. Elliot Page also created and produced Viceland's two-time Emmy-nominated documentary series "Gaycation," which was executive produced by Spike Jonze and Shani Smith. In this series, Elliot Page and Ian Daniel examine LGBTQ+ culture and the sometimes terrible reality that gay people confront throughout the world.

Elliot Page will collect his prize at the Orpheum Theatre on August 22 as part of Outfest L.A.'s Closing Night Gala.
