Jessie J has requested a cease-fire in the "Bang Bang" drama.
The singer rushed to Instagram to apologize to Nicki Minaj and thank her for elucidating the roots of their 2014 song with Ariana Grande.
"I'm sorry I got the narrative incorrect all these years," Jessie said in a Facebook post on Saturday. "I was told you heard the song and wanted to be on it by someone definitely gassing me up at the label,"
Jessie, 33, claimed in a Glamour interview. Minaj, on the other hand, tweeted (and then deleted) a different narrative.
Minaj, on the other hand, tweeted (and subsequently erased) a whole different tale.
"I didn't hear the song and ask to be on it. The label requested me to be on it and paid me. How would I have heard the music?" Minaj wrote.
In her Instagram post, Jessie attempted to make light of the situation, writing, "If we can't laugh in the lives we've been blessed with. What's the point. It really isn't that deep." She also shared a number of memes spawned by the public spat and joked that it was an odd way to commemorate the song's seventh anniversary.
"Should we all go out to dinner?" she wondered. "No, probably not right."
