Is Bennifer coming back? The relationship of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, including their Instagram debut
Is Bennifer coming back?
Lopez and Ben Affleck were a tabloid super couple before Jennifer Lopez became engaged to Alex Rodriguez and before Ben Affleck married Jennifer Garner.
Lopez and Affleck, known simply as "Bennifer," grabbed pop culture by storm after they began dating in the early 2000s. The Hollywood power couple, who co-starred in "Gigli" in 2003 and "Jersey Girl" in 2004, were engaged in November 2002 (remember her pink engagement ring?). Even in Hollywood, though, there isn't always a happily ever after. Lopez and Affleck's engagement ended in 2004.
So, why is "Bennifer" still trending after 17 years? Lopez and Affleck ignited reunion speculations and threw Twitter into a frenzy when they were seen together on numerous occasions following Lopez's divorce from Rodriguez in April.
The two most recently made their Instagram debut at Leah Remini's birthday party. Lopez and Affleck are seen together in a black-and-white photo, with Lopez's hand on Affleck's chest, in a two-minute video montage shared by Remini on Thursday.
This isn't their first adorable photo together. Lopez and Affleck were seen enjoying a day out with their children at Universal Studios Hollywood in California over the July 4th holiday weekend, according to photographs and stories from Page Six and Entertainment Weekly.
But the festivities didn't stop there; according to photographs acquired by Page Six and People, the two were seen taking a walk together the next day in matching beige ensembles. With their arms wrapped around one other, the two appeared to be as comfortable as they could be.
According to photographs acquired by Page Six and claims from People, Lopez and Affleck were photographed enjoying a passionate PDA meal at a Nobu restaurant in Malibu in June. Snapshots of their meal, which allegedly included Lopez's children, show the two lip-locked and embracing one another at the table.
Photos acquired by the Daily Mail a month earlier showed Lopez and Affleck traveling in a vehicle together in Montana over Mother's Day weekend. The duo also attended the Vax Live event in Los Angeles on May 7, however, they did not perform together.
Even Affleck's old friend Matt Damon chimed in on the accusations. "It's an enthralling narrative. "I hope it's real," the actor told "Today" in an interview "May's performance. "I adore both of them. I'm hoping it's real. That would be fantastic."
Damon, on the other hand, kept his mouth shut when asked if he knew anything about a reunion. "There isn't enough liquor in the world to persuade me to say anything about it," he laughed.
