Steve-O may have been sober for thirteen years after overcoming his own problems, but that doesn't mean he's changed his wild and crazy ways in the least. He wound up in the hospital with Johnny Knoxville on the second day of shooting for Jackass 4, and even at 47 years old, he's still pushing the boundaries when it comes to risky and frequently filthy stunts.

One of the major questions surrounding the upcoming fourth installment of the franchise, which has also been raised by the cast and filmmakers, is whether or not audiences will be interested in seeing a bunch of middle-aged guys doing the same things that first brought them to mainstream attention and fame over two decades ago.

Steve-O has now revealed the dreadful events that followed a prank that was considered too far for Jackass 4, yet he still performed it. However, after being brought to the hospital with an ear canal full of dog sh*t, he's probably regretting his decision.

There's art-related pain, and then there's this. A man in his fifties being freely shot in the face with a t-shirt cannon full of excrement is uncommon to say the least, and perhaps the Jackass team is softening with age if they didn't think it was appropriate for whatever they're cooking up.

Of course, if Steve-O has an idea for something he thinks is nasty enough, he'll go ahead and do it regardless of the repercussions, and you can only image the looks seasoned medical experts gave him when he recounted how he got up with an earful of faeces in the first place.
