Many stories have surfaced about the actor, with one claiming that he committed suicide while incarcerated.

Since news of a sexual misconduct controversy involving Chinese-Canadian actor Wu Yi Fan aka Kris Wu, a former member of the K-pop group EXO, emerged, a lot has happened. The Global Times claimed that workers of prominent vehicle company NETA Auto, which is owned by Chinese manufacturer Hozon Auto, were dismissed for publicly discussing a prospective partnership with Kris Wu.

After numerous women came forward with claims of inappropriate sexual behavior against Wu, authorities detained him on suspicion of rape. The allegations surfaced last month after a teenage student called Du Meizhu said that the actor had raped her while she was inebriated. Wu, who is considered one of the biggest Chinese celebrities at present, has been accused of inappropriate behavior by no less than 24 women.

As more and more drama around the controversy emerges, the entire story has gone viral on the Chinese social media site Weibo. The public was outraged when the automaker dismissed employees for discussing their present collaboration status with Wu amongst themselves. According to reports, one of the workers suggested that Wu join the company as an ambassador.

Kris Wu was given a second opportunity by the staff.

According to reports, the employee who proposed bringing Wu on board believed it to be a success because the NETA Auto brand's philosophy was to offer individuals a second opportunity. They explored the concept with coworkers, assuming that any exposure would benefit the company. Their strategy would be judged successful if they received favorable comments, and if it failed, the employee felt that it would have no impact on the business because they would have already gained the public's attention for generating a commotion, making them online famous in no time.

They went on to say that if things went bad, the team could simply apologize and fire the people who were guilty. Several employees are reported to have accepted the proposal, but as soon as it was explored further, NETA Auto dismissed all of the employees involved for having no sense of social values. The firm believed that the whole ordeal would have had a negative impact on their social policy because it went against the company's mission and beliefs.

Kris Wu and his supporters have been removed from Weibo.

Weibo had suspended Wu's personal account, as well as a significant number of discussion threads, organizations, and fan accounts that came out in support of Wu, earlier this week. Furthermore, as the controversy continues to unfold, more contentious stories have begun to circulate on social media sites. There appear to be photographs of Wu being imprisoned in prison while wearing a uniform and shaving his head as recently as this week. Some think they're phony, but others share them and swear they're real.

Another outrage erupted after a Weibo discussion was published on Twitter, alleging Wu committed suicide because he couldn't handle the agony of being in prison. All of this is speculation because there is no way to verify the claim's validity until it comes from official sources. Many firms have dropped Wu as a representative, including Louis Vuitton, Kans, Porsche, and Lancôme.
