Salman Khan has played a variety of noteworthy parts in Bollywood films, ranging from Radhe Mohan in Tere Naam to Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. Despite his several successes, the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam actor has turned down a number of famous parts that have gone to other actors.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995)

Did you know that Shah Rukh Khan wasn't originally cast in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge? Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan, producer Aditya Chopra's original candidates for the role of Raj, were allegedly rejected by the film that altered the notion of romance for decades to come and gave us the famous coupling of Raj and Simran. And there you have it! Shah Rukh Khan received it.

Josh (2000)

In ‘Josh,' Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai would have played the Dias siblings. According to rumors, Salman turned down the part of Max Dias due to scheduling conflicts, and Shah Rukh was cast instead.

Kal Ho Naa Ho (2004)

It's impossible to picture anybody else playing Aman, Rohit, or Naina other than SRK, Saif, and Preity. Salman Khan would have played Saif in the film, which did not leave a single dry eye in the theatre. Salman, though, allegedly turned it down because he didn't want to play a supporting role in SRK's character.

Chak De! India (2007)

In Chak De! India, do you recall Coach Kabir Khan's famous "Sattar minute" (70-minute) monologue? Apparently, it would have been Salman Khan, not Shah Rukh, who would have said those words, but the latter turned down the part due to a tight schedule.

Ghajini (2008)

Salman Khan appears to be an excellent fit for the part of Ghajini in retrospect. Even Aamir Khan agreed, recommending Salman for the part. However, the ‘Wanted' star reportedly declined the part, and Aamir was cast instead.
