Actor Tom Hardy recently spoke with Esquire on how the epidemic shifted his priorities in life. When the epidemic first began, the 43-year-old recalled feeling like he was living in a zombie apocalyptic world where people battled to acquire basic needs.
“It was like, wait on, do we need to arm ourselves when everyone started storing toilet paper and taking stuff off the shelves? Is this the start of the zombie apocalypse? He told Esquire, "There was a point at the beginning where I thought, 'Are people going to riot?'"
Tom recalls doing a lot of home exercises, homeschooling, and even learning how to make bread at home during his confinement. The Venom star even said that his sourdough starter is still alive and well, and that he feeds it every few days. “I was thinking of opening up a sourdough café,” he said afterward. Coffee, sourdough, jiu-jitsu, and AA meetings are all things I enjoy. You are welcome to bring your dog.”
Tom went on to explain how the epidemic made him stop and think about how he and others around him conducted their lives. “I believe there is less need to work in the end because the life drive is to be with the kids and to be fit and healthy and eat properly and stuff,” Tom remarked. He added, “If you’ve got a roof over your head and a bed underneath you and food in the fridge, how much is enough? Because it’s not a dress rehearsal, life, is it? It’s going outlive. This is one-time.”
