Raj Kundra, who is now in judicial custody, will remain in jail despite the fact that he is facing many accusations. On applications like Hotshots, the businessman is suspected of making and sharing pornographic content. Along with Kundara, a technical associate of his firm called Ryan Thorpe was also detained and will be held in judicial custody for the time being.
Kundra's judicial custody will be maintained, according to a recent article in News 18, and his bail plea hearing will be held on August 20. As the investigation into the issue proceeds, the businessman will be held in judicial custody for another ten days. Several evidence in the form of computer chats, WhatsApp groups, and emails have been seized earlier.
Raj Kundra was detained on July 19, and numerous persons, including Gehana Vasisth and Sherlyn Chopra, have been questioned in the investigation since then. Shilpa Shetty, Kundra's wife, and an actress was also questioned during a raid at their home a few weeks ago. According to reports, the actress denied knowing what sort of content Kundra's companies were producing and distributing.
Kundra had already sought bail, but the magistrate court had denied him. The court stated that the alleged crimes committed by Kundra and Thorpe were harmful to society's health.
In addition to Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe, Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi's firm, Kenrin Limited, has been investigated. When Mumbai police busted the pornographic film ring earlier this year, executive Umesh Kamat was also detained.
