The character of Lily Collins in "Emily in Paris" was not affected by Zoom's wardrobe.
The actress, 32, discussed fashion for the second season of the hit Netflix comedy, which follows a feisty American girl who is transferred to the City of Love and works as a marketing assistant — all while wearing frothy ensembles from famed costume designer Patricia Fields' imagination.
"There are simply no sweatpants," Collins joked about the next episodes to Australian Vogue.
"The vibrancy, boldness, joy, and sense of humor Emily has in her clothes enriches her personality," Collins remarked, "particularly coming out of COVID where comfort was essential."
"Not everything felt very comfy after COVID," she said, "but it was really good to have fun with clothes in the most heightened way imaginable again."
Collins partnered with Fields on certain designer pieces, including iconic Christian Louboutin shoes, while the first season established Emily as a fish out of water, prone to cliché berets and Eiffel Tower-emblazoned outfits.
"I saw Emily as a positive young professional who was thrilled to be able to work in Paris. Fields, 78, told Page Six Style last year that she attempts to adapt to French chic while still showing her American roots.
Collins hints that the sophomore season will contain a plethora of gloves, small handbags, and a plethora of adornments. She went on to say that she tried to grab several "amazing outfits" for herself, but "I didn't keep anything this season," Collins lamented. “Believe me, I’ve asked.”
