On April 29 at 2:30 pm IST, listeners were delighted by 'That That,' the title single from PSY's 9th full-length album, 'PSY 9th.' The tune, which was produced by and featured BTS' SUGA, became an instant hit. 'That That' has surpassed 23 million Spotify streams as of this writing, while the music video has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in less than a week.
'That That' has officially debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 list (a rating of the most popular singles in the United States) this week at number 80, according to the most recent update (May 9, local time). PSY and BTS' SUGA both celebrated the news on their Instagram pages following the announcement. While PSY uploaded a post to his feed, SUGA celebrated by way of an Instagram story update. Check out their updates, below:
'That That' has also charted at number two on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. list and number five on the Global 200 chart. These are not only PSY's first entry on both two charts, but they are also the greatest peaks for any BTS member's solo projects on these charts.
This is the highest position for any BTS member's solo work in the Global Excl. US chart, since fellow member Jungkook's 'Stay Alive (Prod. SUGA of BTS)' debuted at number 8 in February. Meanwhile, 'That That' is the highest-charting solo entry by a member of BTS, as well as the first solo top 10 entry (after 'Stay Alive' arriving at number 13 in February).
Congratulations to PSY and BTS’ SUGA!
