Frankie Lons, Keyshia Cole's mother, has died.

Frankie Lons, the vivacious mother of singer Keyshia Cole, who rose to fame after participating in the reality show Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is in 2006, has died.

Her death was announced on Monday morning (July 19). Elite, Cole's younger sister, who also participated in The Way It Is, confirmed the tragic news. “Worst agony ever....to witness my mother in a body bag on her birthday!” she said on Instagram. My heart was f–king shattered.”

According to TMZ, Lons relapsed and overdosed at her house on Sunday while celebrating her birthday, according to Cole's brother Sam.

Last year, Cole said that Lons, who had suffered from drugs on and off, had gone into treatment and would have spent 30 days there in February. She was hoping that her mother would finally be able to stay clean and healthy for her children.

She commented beside a photo of herself and her mother, "Do you believe in the power of love?"

”How about the lack of it? 50/50 Knowing you can always rely on something or someone is a source of strength. Someone who will catch you if you fall. I've been standing strong for you in the hopes of experiencing that sensation from you.”

Cole and her elder sister, Neffeteria, have remained silent about the situation. Cole and Lons discussed the prospect of her not being around during Cole's most recent reality show on BET, Keyshia Cole My New Life, in 2019, which Cole admitted scared her.

“Something happens out there on the streets that shock a child,” Cole explained.

“One day it's chicken, the next it's feathers,” says the narrator. You'll have to move on if I die today, and you'll have to make it. Lons responded, "You have to live for Keyshia." “You must live for yourself and your family, not for anybody else. You don't have to do anything but die and pay taxes, but if something happens to me, you must go on. You'll see me later, at the end of the day. “Up there,” she says.

“I'm always where you can find me,” she added. Even if God summons me. The love of a mother will always protect you.”
