Sabrina Elba, Idris Elba's wife, spills the beans on their happy marriage.
During an appearance on E!, Sabrina Elba, presenter of Audible's Coupledom, discussed falling in love with husband Idris Elba and the key to their marriage. On July 21, Justin Sylvester will be on the Just the Sip podcast.
On E!, Sabrina Elba recounted her sweet love story with husband Idris Elba in an exclusive interview. Justin Sylvester hosts the podcast It's Just the Sip. The former Miss Vancouver pondered on meeting People's 2018 Sexiest Man Alive in Vancouver during the July 21 show.
Sabrina confessed, "We did meet in a jazz bar." "I'm in there dancing, vibing, and singing," Idris said. Idris initially caught Sabrina's eye at a birthday party, and Sabrina contacted him purely for "wing-man" responsibilities.
She laughed about accepting Idris' advances, "I'm thinking Nah, excuse me, that's inappropriate. I'm trying to be a nice buddy!" but it all worked out in the end. "We had the finest discussion; we spoke all night, all day the next day, and after that we were inseparable."
Sabrina looked back on their love journey through the prism of her Somali-Canadian upbringing and Muslim religion, while Idris has been honest about the hard path to meeting his soulmate. "Marriage is a thing," she continued, "and it occurs immediately now." "I suppose since Idris was Idris, my family was like, 'OK, fantastic! Do your thing, take your time.'"
Her entire family has fallen in love with the Hobbs & Shaw star. Sabrina exclaimed, "Actually, my mother and Idris get along extremely well." "She adores him to no end."
Idris, a long-time bachelor, was clearly anticipating Sabrina's arrival: "I and Idris simply get along so well," the Coupledom presenter explained. "Our morals are aligned, we have the same hobbies, we have the same sense of humor; there are so many things that are in sync."
Rather than concentrating on the critics—Sabrina doesn't feel obligated to "justify" her marriage—the model entrepreneur and Idris wanted to discuss the "wonderful path of new partnership" in their Audible podcast.
"We're newlyweds who want to learn and develop just like everyone else, but in a setting where we can own it," Sabrina said of the six-episode interview series. "I know what I have at home is great and lovely, and it's something I appreciate and care for; it's not something that other people should comment on or discuss."
Expect the Elba family to grow in the near future!
Sabrina joked about having a kid, saying, "Not yet, but I'm getting there."
One thing is certain: Idris and Sabrina's love story was scripted in the stars. "When it's meant to happen, it'll happen," she remarked cheerfully. "They're your one if you discover them."
In February 2018, during the premiere of his film Yardie, Idris proposed. In April of this year, the pair married in Marrakesh, Morocco.
