Nick Jonas Breaks a Rib in a Brutal Bike Accident on NBC's "Olympic Dreams" Special
Remember when Nick Jonas was on The Voice earlier this year and suffered a broken rib? We're finally receiving a video of what happened in that crash. On Friday night's edition of Olympic Dreams Featuring the Jonas Brothers, the singer took a nasty crash off a motorcycle.
The performance included a variety of Olympic disciplines such as track and field, gymnastics, and others, but the true highlight was the BMX part. Nick was riding his bike around the studio when he encountered a curve and fell hard, forcing both of his brothers to collide with him and fall as well. While Joe and Kevin soon recovered, it was apparent that Nick's fall was far more catastrophic.
“F**ked up my back,” Nick muttered as he knelt on the ground in agony. When his brothers asked whether he was okay, Nick answered, "Yeah, I believe my rib's f**ked up too."
As Nick winced, an ambulance arrived on the set of the program and whisked him away to the hospital.
Olympic Dreams Featuring the Jonas Brothers was filmed in May of this year. Nick was also working on The Voice at the time, and he disclosed that he had a damaged rib.
“I always give 110 percent, and occasionally it earns you the gold,” Nick remarked during the show's impromptu news conference. “In this case, it resulted in a broken rib, a bruised tailbone, and a hospital meal. But I'm on the mend. Thank you for your inquiry; please go to the next question.”
While discussing the fall with Entertainment Tonight at the time, Nick delved into what may have caused such a severe fall.
“Something got trapped, mud on the bike, and I simply tumbled,” he explained. “However, strangely, I feel fine all things considered. I jumped back into my Voice chair and told myself, 'Listen, I'm not going to let anything slow me down.'"
