Tony Bennett will perform 'One Last Time' with Lady Gaga after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga are reunited on stage for "One Last Time."
Gaga revealed on Twitter Monday that the longtime friends and colleagues will conduct a two-night performance titled "One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga" on August 3 and 5 to commemorate Bennett's 95th birthday.
Gaga wrote on Twitter, "I am very honored and delighted to celebrate Tony's 95th birthday with him at these special concerts."
According to a press release, the gigs will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York and will be Bennett's final performances in the city.
Bennett announced he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016 during an interview with AARP earlier this year.
According to the report, he had not yet experienced usual symptoms such as disorientation, panic, wrath, or sadness, but "there was little question that the sickness had advanced."
Bennett was diagnosed in February by Gayatri Devi, M.D., a neurologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, who claimed the singer has "cognitive problems, but numerous other parts of his brain are still robust and working well."
The conversation also included Bennett's wife Susan Crow and eldest son Danny.
Danny revealed that he spoke with Gaga about shattering the taboo around his illness.
“I just wanted to make sure she was okay,” Danny explained. “Because she's always keeping an eye on his back.” 'Absolutely, it's simply another gift he can give to the world,' she said.
In the interview, the 94-year-old singer also said that he and Gaga are working on a new record after their 2014 album "Cheek to Cheek." The album has yet to be published, having been recorded between 2018 and early 2020.
Presale tickets for "One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga" will go on sale on Citi Entertainment on July 21 at 10 a.m., and general ticket sales will begin on Live Nation the following day at 10 a.m.
To attend the concert, all guests aged 16 and up must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of vaccination.
